Why We Started Refined Tax
After a combined 25+ years working in public and private accounting, Lacey and Dan had seen how the big firms operated. The billing was unpredictable. Clients were passed from person to person. And most of the time nobody ever stopped to explain what was actually happening with a client's finances.
That bothered us. So we built a full service accounting firm around a different idea.
We wanted clients to talk to the same people every time. We wanted pricing to be clear before any work starts. And we wanted the goal to be bigger than just filing a return or closing the books — we wanted clients to actually understand their financial picture and feel good about where their money is going.
That is still what drives us today.

Dan handles tax strategy, planning, and complex accounting questions so you always have a real CPA in your corner.
Lacey Jones-Grossaint
Co-Founder
Lacey brings deep experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable and payable, and client operations. She is the reason things run smoothly at Refined Tax — from onboarding new clients to making sure books are clean and current. Lacey is the first point of contact for most clients and the person keeping everything organized behind the scenes.
